Well I certainly had a packed weekend. Where should I start? How about Friday.
I had one of the easiest days in school ordering pizza in Spanish class and going down to the tv room during Health class to watch tv with a friend of mine. (I wasn't cutting class. We were finished a project and he works there so I tagged along and we basically just stayed there till the block ended doing nothing) The only work I did that day was a Chem test which I'm not so sure I did well on. I'm realizing that Chemistry just isn't my thing. I hate it.
That night I went to see the Da Vinci Code which I'm now pleased to see that it set a box office record for $77 million on the first weekend...only second to Star Wars III last year. Personally, I thought the movie was good considering I've gone through the book 1.75 times. Critics didn't seem to like it but I purposely stayed away from the reviews and look what happened. I enjoyed it. So after that nice treat, I didn't get in till 11:30 (long movie) and just went to bed.
Saturday was yet another semi busy day. I guess the main highlight would be the job interview I had. I woke up to a yard sale out on our front lawn which is never easy to sleep in to thanks to the dog and her loud mouth. I didn't sleep in too long before getting up to grab a doughnout. Got dressed and mingled around the house until receiving the call from Borders Books to come in and do an interview for a position at the cafe. I applied about a week ago and this was the first I heard. Wasn't expecting it but I was excited to do it. Around 1:30 I was over there and got it over with. The strange thing was I wasn't nervous. Interviews aren't all they're hyped up to be. I haven't received any feed back yet and todays Sunday so I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. We'll see tomorrow.
Now today. Today was the moment I had been waiting for since January. It was May 21 -- that day that seemed years away back 5 months ago. It's amazing how fast time flew but my birthday gift was well worth the wait. Going to see Rent in Philadelphia was perfect. Perfect in the sense of the gift; not so much the word to sum up the whole happening because perfect is THE word for a flawless day. The theater was crowded and probably because today was the last day for the performance in Philly. Our seats were good but the best. I was fortunate enough to see the stage while poor mom had an "obstructed view" thanks to the (how do I say this) big headed man in front of us. Of all the older and shorter people in the theater, we got the tallest. Exactly what I wanted....or not. So yes. The musical was outstanding. It was so much better and more deep than the movie could ever be. It definately tops my dvd which has gone through plenty of use. Our next theater outing is looking like it will be Wicked. Only problem is the tickets which are so expensive that they cost more than most tickets. Looks like I'll be saving some money this summer. Please call me back Borders.
So here's to another great week. Summer '06 is on it's way here and I can see school on the verge of winding down. I'm gonna keep the momentum up but the thought of summer is good to keep me going.
