Today was a loong day. It started off fairly easy with the HSPA testing where I had to make up random stories about weird pictures. It was a lot of writing and reading hence the language arts section. The rest of the day was kinda just wasted with needless classes clocking in at a record low of 15-20 minutes each. Hah yeah. Pointless.
Oh and yeah...
It was also the most physically demanding day of my life.
No joke.
I went to my first track practice today. After getting my physical form in after school and figuring out where to go and get changed (took me awhile) I went with the team. There were a lot of runners I was with and high jumpers. There was only me and about 4, 5 others that will pole-vault.
Now going in today, I had the impression that we would be cleaning out the storage closet to get all the equipment ready so I wasn't all that nervous. One of the coaches announced 3 laps around the track (just about a mile) so needless to say, I was kinda happy. It wasn't an overly long run. I thought it would be great and yeah it kinda was. 3 laps was a nice run even though it was actually tiring. I hadn't serioulsy run since fitness class last year with the mile. That's it. You could say that I'm really out of shape with running. Boy was I regretting it.
So we stretched and the head coach talked with us to inform the team that he had to leave. AKA we wouldn't be cleaning out the shed like expected. NOT good news for me because that meant....you guessed it.......we would run.
Here's a sum up of how it went:
-Walked over to the front of the school. Went down to the bottom of the hill. Ran sprints up and down it to the flagpole at least 15 times. [How Beat I Got -- 4 out of 5] If that makes any sense.
-Barely 5 minutes later. Run around the school drive area 4 times. Really long. Going up hill had to spring. [How Beat i Got -- 5 out of 5] I was really tired from the previous sprints. Had no energy whatsover to do it, but I sure as heck had a lot of will power to keep pushing. Wanted to stop and walk but couldn't.
-Maybe 5 minutes later. Gotta go run around the neighborhood. Probably about 2 miles. My feet were hurting. I ran using my toes too much cause they're hurting now. I thought it would never end but I kept on going and going and going and going and going [How Beat -- 6 out of 5]
Hah this is kinda funny now that I look back at it. It sounds really weak and wimpy too so I'm not gonna complain any more. The fact is that I wasn't prepared to run and had a rude awakening. So I'll just do it again and again and again and again until I am prepared to run a lot.
At least it's getting in shape.
