We had the American Idol concert today. Mom took me, Ashley, and Candice to Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center where I saw the gymnastics show. We left the house at around 5:20 in the afternoon and that gave us enough time to get there and everything. Thankfully, we had a parking pass to guarantee a parking space really close to the main entrance. After arriving, you couldn't help but notice the huge crowd that had formed around the area. I knew it was going to be crowded but didn't expect it that mobbed. There were so many families and younger kids but no surprise there. It is a family show. After making our way in, finding our seat, and getting situated, Candice, Ashley, and I walked out and bought souvenirs . I got myself a program. Thanks mom for the money. As we were sitting and waiting for the show to start, occassionaly there would be an idol or two popping out into the area right next to where we were sitting. How lucky were we? Out of all the places we could have tickets to, we got seats right next to the area where they walked past. Bo came out and I was only about 8 feet away from him despite the large crowd of people that had swarmed over to our section.
The show started finally and first outs were the less important and popular. As the show progressed, the more popular Idols came out. (aka Carrie and Bo) I got to see Constantine, which was one of the main reasons I wanted to go. A fan was giving out demo cds of his Pray for the Soul of Betty album with his band. Mom got one.
During intermission, we stayed in our area in hopes that Idols would go to the area where they had previously been sited right next to us. So a lot of the people that were in front of our seats walked out so Candice and I decided to step down and stand around that area because it was closer to where they came out and there was a good view. We wanted to see an Idol come out. So, we're standing there for about 5 minutes and only got about one quick view of Constantine. We were waiting for Anthony to go by when all of a sudden I hear this guy in red talking behind us saying, "Excuse me. Do you have tickets for this row. Let me see. Show me." He's very rude and forceful and he's not even a security person. We're doing nothing wrong except apparently standing by his daughters seat. So that's okay. I agreed to move out and give him his seats back. I didn' want to upset the guy. But as I was passing past him to get out, he didn't need to rudely tell me to "get out" and "come on." He might as well as physically pushed us because it sure felt like that's what he was doing. I was a bit angry about that. He wasn't nice at all just by the tone of his voice and manner.
All in all, the second part was just as good, if not better. We had a nice duet with Carrie and Bo and a few group performances. It went by fast actually. Mom was trying to get me to dance. I wasn't feeling like it. As soon as the concert ended, we got out of there fast for fear of traffic. It went smoothly. Mom got us out of there nice and easy before everyone else started going crazy.
On the way home, we stopped at McDonalds where mom had a bit of an episode at the drive through. She had, well a bit of a laughing fit at the drive through lady's voice because it was very similiar to the Chinese lady in Dude Where's My Car? Kind of embaressing but funny none the less. Definately unforgettable. The people in the restaurant must of thought we were a bit wacky...
Ok that was it. We dropped eveyone off after that and then we came on home. I'm tired and there's work tomorrow. Great....I don't want to go.
Thanks mom for all that you did tonight!
